3rd Pastry & Baking Class ♥

this post has been delayed by 3 days
finally I manage to squeeze out some time for my 3rd pastry class
we are learning choux paste this time
just for everyone's information, choux paste is the main ingredient for making puff & eclair
and what we have made are :
- cream puff
- chocolate eclair
- churros
all of these items tasted nice
especially the puff as there is cream inside
I know the cream is quite fattening but it's YUMMY!
tell me who can actually stop him/herself from cream?!
if you are saying you are the one who can,
I'll say SORRY, I just can't stop myself from loving cream ♥
okay, no more rubbish talk from me
let's start with the instruction -->


all instructions are written clearly on the board
what we have to do is just get all the ingredients mixed up together
the cream puff & chocolate eclair are using the same dough
so now we are beginning with the 1st step :


measure 120gm of margarine in a pot


add in 300ml of water and melt the margarine with medium fire
cook until the margarine totally melts


off the fire & add in 170gm of flour
mix the melted margarine & the flour well


the product after mixing the both items together should be like this
make sure the flour turns into yellow colour


4 no.s of eggs are needed
add in one by one while beating the dough

remember to add in the eggs!

the cream-like dough!
this is what we called "choux"


spread some butter on the tray
just a thin layer will do


fill the choux inside the thing shown in the photo
*sorry, I didn't know what it is called 


carefully squeeze out the dough 
6 rolls will be enough for the chocolate eclair
just scrap away any failed shape & re-squeeze a new one

the puffs are & eclairs are cooled after being baked for 30mins

 now, cut at the middle of both puffs & eclairs
remember not to cut into halves
just cut on one side of them


fill the cream through the cuts

our chef is preparing the chocolate for us


dip the puffs & eclairs into the chocolate


we are just having chocolate on the top
but if u are greedy, u can choose to dip the whole puff/eclair into the chocolate

  taa-dan
they are ready to be fridged


the chocolate has become hard after 30mins
it's time for us to start eating

after the 2 pastry items have done, we continue with our 3rd item - churros


mix sugar, water & cooking oil in a pot
cook the mixture using medium fire


add in the flour, salt & cinnamon powder into the mixture


same with the steps when making puffs & eclairs
but only 3 no.s of eggs are used this time


after beating, fill the choux into the "I dunno" and bring it the frying pan


squeeze out the choux in thread-like shape


fry the choux until all of them are cooked


finally the churros is done
sugar is added before serving
my group of churros are not looking nice
but the taste is still okay
I finished almost whole tray of them
hehe*

finding that the pastry items we learned actually require simple steps
yet the taste is always nice
I should try to make these often after I go back to Sibu for my holiday
